Dear Church Family,
Last Wednesday night was our Sole Hope Family Mission Night and we had a great time together. We cut out enough jeans to make 26 pairs of shoes! Through your generosity, we also have enough donations to cover 38 pairs of shoes, so we will slowly finish cutting the jeans over the next couple of weeks and get those sent out as soon as possible.
A special note to the parents who came: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Watching you work with your kids on a mission project was absolutely amazing. I was so proud of all the kiddos diligently working and trying their hardest to make perfect cuts. It is my firm belief that kids with parents who serve shows them how important mission work is, no matter what capacity. It is living out and practicing Deuteronomy 6:4-7, “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
In everything that we do, we are to show and teach God’s love, which includes following all his commandments and following him with all that we are. In the simple act of cutting jeans for shoes, we can also expand kids' minds to the needs of the world and mission work that they can be involved in, no matter their age.
