What a wonderful day of worship we had yesterday! It was even more wonderful to have ten prospective members and six new members attend our luncheon and orientation yesterday after worship. Please pray that God would grow our Church Family and that all of our members would be engaged in strong friendships and committed to using their gifts in service of others.
The choir shared a new congregational song yesterday that expresses the hope that we have in the risen Christ. (Easter isn’t over, it’s every day!) I invite you to pray through these words and listen to this song entitled “Living Hope” which is accessible through our website: southhillsbc.org/worship-arts.
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus, Yours is the victory
It is this Good News that I will be sharing when I leave this evening for a 12-day mission trip to Hungary and Romania. Thank you for donating all of the needed funds, praying for me, and allowing me to represent South Hills Baptist Church on this mission endeavor. Please pray specifically for those souls who will come to faith in Jesus Christ through the preaching of the gospel message. Europe is not an easy place to be a Christian. Pray for them to connect with local Baptist churches and for those churches to faithfully disciple them.
