Encouraging One Another
I am truly thankful for each of you. I’m never surprised at the love and support I see from our church family, but I’m always amazed watching God move our family to action. I see this each year with fundraising support for students going to camp. We are seeing this with the Wright’s adoption, and we are seeing this with the passing of Tom McChesney. God used Tom, as He does many in our church, to keep the church looking great and functional. I will miss seeing him each week cleaning and straightening as he uses his gifts to glorify and honor God. I will miss our conversations about God’s Word. Serving with him has encouraged me, and I pray we will all be encouraged by one another to use the gifts and talents God has given us. Please continue to pray for Lorraine and their family over the coming days, weeks, and years.
We can find encouragement in one another, and I pray we spur one another on to good works (Hebrews 10:24). The only way we can do these things is to study God’s Word, pray, and walk with each other through life. I am reminded of Psalm 1:1-3, “How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” We are the tree, rooted in God’s Word, and we receive life through the Living Water. When we bear fruit, we can lead others to a better understanding of Jesus. Let’s be Jesus to each other and the world around us.
