This is the week we have so much going on! Sunday, we had the Men’s Cake Auction to raise funds for Youth Camp. We raised $1,556 dollars! Thank you to all who donated cakes, purchased them, and shared them. The cakes tasted as good as they looked. On Friday, April 27, Travis Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA) will be leading a time of worship in The Loft at 7 pm. Everyone is invited! Saturday, April 28, we will minister to the homeless of Fort Worth. If you are going, you can meet at the church at 7:15 am, or you can meet us there. Please arrive no later than 8 am, and expect to return at 2 pm. We will lead worship, study God’s Word, sort clothing, prepare and serve food, and share our life stories of how we were awakened to Christ. Please wear your South Hills Baptist shirts (blue or gray), if you have one.

If you are reading this, and you have not been awakened to the reality of Jesus, then there is no better time than now! The things on our calendar, mentioned above, are because South Hills Baptist is full of people who have awakened to Jesus. As Pastor Chris said, “The command of Jesus is NOT a chore or checklist. The Gospel of Jesus motivates (not manipulates) us to go and tell others about Jesus.” As we awaken to each new day, we have the opportunity to live for Christ. We wake up physically and spiritually, we worship, and we go out. As we go out, we must tell others, not only with our words, but also our actions. I am so thankful to be a part of the South Hills family as we take the Gospel with us as we go. “And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” (Romans 10:15)
