It’s been a few months since I’ve shared about any of the new songs that our congregation is singing in worship. I like to do this so that you will know the heart behind these new songs. Please remember that you can always visit the worship ministry page of our website and listen to the hymns and praise songs that we sing in congregational worship.
In January, we learned “Hallelujah Here Below,” a song that reminds us why we sing our worship. Music has the power to fuse God’s Truth to our emotions. When trials come, it is often a song that will remind us of that truth.
And should the fire that once burned bright
Become an ember my eyes can't see
I will remember Your sacrifice
I will abide in Your love for me
In February, we learned “Great Things.” This song reminds us that God is NOT done doing great things in us, around us, and through us.
You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore
You have done great things
And I know You will do it again
For Your promise is yes and amen
You will do great things
God You do great things
This month, we will learn “Do It Again,” a song that reminds us to place our hope in God, even when life seems hopeless and our struggles overwhelm us. God is faithful, He is powerful, and He is loving.
Walking around these walls
I thought by now they'd fall
But you have never failed me yet
Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle's won
For you have never failed me yet
It is my prayer that these songs influence your thinking, encourage your hearts, but most of all prompt you to worship God in every area of your lives. He alone is worthy.
