Love Came For Me
“Love Came For Me” is a great theme to reflect on the beauty and magnitude of Christmas. As we celebrate Christmas it is important to keep our focus where it needs to be – on Jesus Christ and why He came to earth. Yesterday’s worship service was a great blessing to me in many ways as we reflected on the anticipation of Jesus coming and then celebrated the joy of His coming for us. Under Aaron Kenagy’s leadership the Choir, Praise Team, Band, and A/V Team did a wonderful job of leading us in this special worship service.
The gift of Jesus is the greatest gift ever given which is why we celebrate Christmas. If we, in turn, aren’t giving and sharing the love of Jesus with others, then we are falling short of God’s purpose for us. We can share God’s love in many ways, but one of those is through our Dallas Park Christmas Project. For the third year in a row, we have “adopted” about ten families from a local elementary school to provide Christmas gifts for them. It thrills me to see our church family excitedly get involved and displaying generosity at Christmas. This week we will distribute all these gifts to these families in need along with a Bible and some information about our church. I am grateful for the leadership of Andy Carroll in this large endeavor along with some help from the Evangelism/Missions Team.
So many wonderful worship services, events, projects, and parties have already happened and we still have one more full week before Christmas. Sunday morning will be another wonderful day of worship as I conclude our Christmas series “An Unexpected Christmas” and our children get to be on the platform for a special portion of the service. Then the next evening we will gather together on Christmas Eve at 6:00 P.M. for our Candlelight and Lord’s Supper Christmas Eve Service. Please be intentional this week to invite family and friends to join us for these two worship services leading up to Christmas as we celebrate Jesus together.
May God bless you this week. Please know I am praying for you!
