A Personal Invitation to Cancer
Patients

As one who is battling cancer, have you ever wished for a
support team of fellow Christians who would be there to offer
spiritual and practical support to you in your fight against
cancer? If so, contact the South Hills Baptist Church office
(817) 423-8800. This support is offered to members of our
community as well as members of our church.
The congregational spiritual support teams are there to meet
needs—physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. They are not
there to offer empty platitudes; they are there to translate
love into action. They want to become caring friends who seek
ways to meet your needs as a cancer patient. Their prayers are
important, but so is their practical help. They are there to do
whatever it takes to meet your needs—which may mean (on a
short-term basis) getting help to mow the lawn, wash the dishes,
clean the house, pick up the groceries, help out with the
children, take you to and from the oncologist or a support group
or just be a good listener.
The Apostle John wrote in 1 John 3:18 (TLB): “Little children,
let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them,
and show it by our actions.” Let us love you in this very
practical way as you wage your war against cancer. Just call
South Hills Baptist Church. You will be glad you did!
