About Us

"One body, one Spirit...one hope...one Lord, one faith, one baptism."

Eph. 4 : 4-5

South Hills Baptist Church has been worshiping our Lord and Savior for over 55 years in Fort Worth, TX. Our church is a warm, loving fellowship of Christian believers who have a history of caring for those both inside and outside its membership. To continue that strong ministry, our church purchased 11 acres of land at 7350 Granbury Road in 2005, built a multi-purpose facility in 2006 and began worship services at our current location on Sunday, August 27, 10:30 a.m.  But the story of our church doesn't end there.  We called Gary Godkin as the fourth pastor of South Hills Baptist Church on June 22, 2008, the 56th anniversary of our church.  We look forward to witnessing what God will do next in our midst, so that we may continue to tell of His great faithfulness.

Our roots run deep into the landscape of Fort Worth, and the Southside in particular. We are excited to be part of a new and growing community surrounded by Summer Creek Meadows, the Villages at Sunset Point, Summer Creek Ranch and Wedgwood.

The longevity of our pastors' tenures and the flexibility and dedication that our congregation has shown to following God wherever He leads demonstrates that South Hills is a stable place for families to worship, serve, and fellowship with one another.  We strive to seek balance between our upward focus on God, our inward focus on discipleship and Christian education, and our outward focus as we choose to be witnesses of the gospel of Christ to our community, country and world.  At South Hills, people of all ages and interests use the passion and gifting that God has given them to further His kingdom on earth.  Above all we seek to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
